22. -1763- Red River as a Boundary

From 1763, the year the Treaty of Paris was signed, until 1849, the year Minnesota became a territory, the drainage basin of the Red River of the North and the Mississippi River were the two most important boundary lines of the ever changing political subdivision now known as Minnesota.
