19. Grand Forks Trade

Grand Forks is located on the confluence of the Red Lake River and Red River of the North. The junction of these two rivers had long been an important rendezvous for trappers and fur traders before 1870. Prior to the railroad, riverboat, ox cart and dog sled were used for overland trade.
