1. -1610- Henry Hudson Explorations

In 1610, Henry Hudson, exploring for the English, sailed into Hudson's Bay and claimed for England all the land drained by rivers running into Hudson's Bay. Thus, the land through which our Red River flows was considered the property of the English.
