Ladybird Beetle (Coccinella novemnotata)

These familiar beetles are easily recognized by their red color and spotted markings. The number and location of the spots on a Ladybird Beetle depend on the particular species. Most Ladybird Beetles are very beneficial in gardens; they aid in the controlling of garden pests by eating other insects--such as aphids--that cause harm to plants.
