White-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus)

White-tailed deer have white coloring underneath their tails, which they raise when they become alarmed. The fur of the white-tailed deer changes from a reddish hue in the summer to grayish-brown in the winter. They are very common in wooded areas of the Red River Valley.
