The Deer Mouse is very small. This creature weighs less than an ounce and is five inches in length--including a two-inch tail. The coloring of a deer mouse is medium brown on the back and sides and white on the belly. Its tail is brown on top and white below. It lives in burrows of other animals, in old logs or in old buildings. Baby deer mice weigh the equivalent of half a penny! Deer Mice are most active at night.
